From On The Water
Captain Cam Faria of Cambo Charters said bass fishing was lights out in Cape Cod Bay this week on the pogy schools. They were getting fish up to 30 pounds on topwater and on live pogies. Further east, Cam said the fishing has been just as good. He described an epic bass bite in the rips with 35-inch-plus stripers blitzing on mackerel. All of their fish, he said, came on top water. Back up in Cape Cod Bay, Cam Tuna fished this morning after hooking a big one yesterday on bass gear, and unfortunately, they pulled the hook on a giant this morning as well. Such is the nature of giant bluefin tuna fishing. He’ll continue to fish for bass, bluefin, and even bonito in the coming weeks, so reach out for availability!.

From On The Water
Sailing out of Westport for tuna recently, Captain Cam Faria of Cambo Charters said the bluefin bite south of the islands has been good, but not stellar. They’re getting anywhere from 1 to 5 hookups a trip while jigging RonZs and metals, so his charters have been able to bring back a fish on almost every outing. When he’s not on the tuna grounds, Cam has also been targeting stripers in the rips around Chatham. He said the bigger fish are stacked up in the bay, but for his charters, which are often looking for slot-size fish, they’ve been doing just fine out east. They’ve played plenty of catch and release with 30 to 50 fish trips after getting a few for the table. Back west, Cam has been catching sea bass a bit offshore in 60 to 70 feet of water on bucktails and diamond jigs. He expressed the importance of always fishing with a teaser for sea bass, especially when they’re on small bait. A basic rubber squid skirt will work just fine.

The Floundah Poundah is a 24’ angler made in Miami FL. She’s powered by a 250 Yamaha that gets her up and going to our fishing spot quickly and efficiently. The boat has plenty of room for up to 6 anglers. With our specialized Cape Cod Tuna Charters we will be limited to MAX 4 or less anglers, this is depending on what type of Tuna we are targeting.
